Ledger.com/Start® | Getting started

Welcome to the official Ledger.com/Start® guide. This is your secure starting point for setting up your Ledger hardware wallet, installing Ledger Live, and beginning your crypto journey with confidence. Whether you are a first-time user or an experienced investor, these steps will help you get started safely.

Why begin at Ledger.com/Start®?

Ledger.com/Start® is the trusted entry point for initializing your Ledger device. By following this link, you make sure that the software, instructions, and firmware updates come directly from Ledger. This helps prevent the risks of downloading fake apps, falling for phishing websites, or using outdated setup guides.

Step 1 — Unbox and Connect

Open your new Ledger Nano S Plus, Nano X, or Stax. Connect it to your computer with the supplied USB cable or via Bluetooth (for Nano X). Power on the device and follow the basic prompts on the small screen. Next, open Ledger.com/Start® in your browser to continue.

Step 2 — Install Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the companion application that allows you to manage your wallet. Download it for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android directly from the official Ledger.com/Start® page. Once installed, launch Ledger Live to proceed with initialization and setup.

Step 3 — Initialize Your Device

During the first setup, you’ll be asked to:

Important: Never store your recovery phrase on your phone, computer, or online. It should only exist offline and securely stored. It’s the only way to restore your funds if your wallet is lost or damaged.

Step 4 — Logging into Ledger Live

Once setup is complete, open Ledger Live and select “Get Started.” Connect your Ledger device, unlock it with your PIN, and confirm pairing. This login process combines both software and hardware verification, ensuring that only you can access your crypto accounts.

Step 5 — Add Accounts

Inside Ledger Live, you can add accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and other supported cryptocurrencies. Accounts keep track of balances, history, and performance. By managing multiple assets from a single interface, you stay organized while ensuring that every transaction remains secure.

Step 6 — Send and Receive Crypto

To receive funds, generate an address in Ledger Live and confirm it on your device screen. Share the address with the sender. To send, enter the recipient’s address, verify details, and approve the transaction both in the app and on your device. This hardware confirmation step protects against malware that might alter addresses.
